Larry Kimberlin, DVM, FAVD, CVPP, DAVDC is a licensed Texas veterinarian with more than 30 years in mixed animal practice. His extensive experience includes treatment of small animals, horses, and livestock. Certified Veterinary Dental Specialist Member Foundation for Veterinary Dentistry Certified member of the International Association of Equine Dentistry President & Fellow of the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry American Association of Equine Practitioners member American Veterinary Medical Association member Texas Veterinary Medical Association member Texas Academy of Veterinary Practice member International Association of Veterinary Pain Management member Author/lecturer on equine dentistry to professional and equine groups Graduate Texas A&M University School of Veterinary Medicine Dr. Kimberlin has had a passion for dentistry for the past 15 years. He has taken advanced post graduate courses in small animal dentistry, equine dentistry and dental treatment for exotic animals. He has averaged more than 100 continuing education hours/year over this time span – most of which have been in dentistry – more than 5 times the required amount for licensure in Texas. He has spoken at local, national and international meetings on dentistry. He has written informational articles on dentistry for newspapers and equine magazines. He is the co-author of Atlas of Clinical Imaging and Anatomy of the Equine Head Dr. Kimberlin is a board certified dental specialist. He is a member of the International Association of Equine Dentistry. He is a Fellow and President in the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry. Admission to the Academy is awarded to veterinarians with a special interest in dentistry after completion of a 2-year training program and passing the Academy exam. Since 1987 only 70 veterinarians in the United States have become Fellows of the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry. He has been innovative in the development of instruments for use in equine dentistry. He designed and fabricated the first radiolucent equine speculum for radiographing the mouth and developed other high tech improvements for animal dentistry such as an intraoral camera for use in equine dentistry.
